Fictional Italian Locale of Porto Corso vs. painting by Joseph Rebell “View of Atrani”, Italy

In Cars 2, a great mediterranean locale scenery has been created by Disney/Pixar Studios. Has been named “Porto Corso”, sounds link the Island of Corsica in the mediterranean sea, but it’s not this locale …

The city of “Porto Corsa” seems to be a modified copy of Atrani, a village on the Gulf of Salerno in Italy!

Seen on a wonderful painting by Joseph Rebell, owned by the Prince of Liechtenstein, used by LGT Bank in Liechtenstein.

  1. Great! I live in Atrani on the Amalfi coast, in particular, the design of Disney Pixar is inspired by Atrani today, with the long arcades and the yachts on the sea.
