Since we both sadly absent are always on call to the maintenance contract to speak, I would like to present you our concerns in this way to you.
In May 2004, our company is the product “CAST Application Mining / Enlighten” including maintenance for about $ 18000.- USD bought. Allow me the points listed below us what problems:

License Problem

(A) It seems to us there is a problem even though we license the software for more than a year have paid.
We still have a valid license key! The CAST Had soft so it runs for some time did not.
Until now, we were always with any temporary Keys (approximately 10 pieces).
Somehow, the same with the number of places to do it. This was, however, before about 2 years to negotiate and accordingly offers.
Apparently, however, were the objects CAST Internal completely differently than we counted at the time the offer was communicated.
Example: We have 1 PL / SQL package with 10 contained procedures. We have therefore 1 object. CAST in turn counted then 10 objects?
Furthermore unsrerseits were only “meaningful” observed objects - it was the CAST Analyzer, but then again not possible to have any meaningful restrictions set - that the analyzer has imported all objects (including all “useless” objects).

Forms Analysis

(B) For the following, the product should be used in 2004. Unfortunately totally unsatisfactory.
For analyses Forms 3 and DB-Link dependencies ==> Result: War is not useful because the generic analyzer no connections from Forms 3 via Oracle 7.2 database link to Oracle 8.0.4 apparent.

Da wir beide leider immer wieder abwesend sind um telefonisch über den Wartungsvertrag zu sprechen, möchte ich Ihnen unser Anliegen auf diesem Wege zukommen lassen.
Im Mai 2004 hat unser Unternehmen das Produkt “CAST Application Mining / Enlighten” samt Wartung für ca. €15′000.- gekauft.
Ich erlaube mir nachfolgend die Punkte aufzuführen welche uns Probleme bereiten:

Lizenzproblem

(A) Scheinbar gibt es mit uns ein Lizenzproblem obwohl wir die Software seit über einem Jahr bezahlt haben.
Wir haben immer noch keinen gültigen Lizenz-Key! Die CAST Softwäre läuft also seit geraumer Zeit gar nicht.
Bis jetzt wurden wir immer mit irgendwelchen temporären Keys (ungefährt 10 Stück) ausgestattet.
Irgendwie hat das auch mit den Anzahl Objekten zu tun. Dies wurde jedoch schon vor ca. 2 Jahren abgeklärt und dementsprechend offeriert.
Scheinbar wurden dann jedoch CAST Intern die Objekte völlig anders gezählt als dies uns zum Zeitpunkt der Offerte mitgeteilt wurde.
Beispiel: Wir haben 1 PL/SQL Package mit 10 darin enthaltenen Prozeduren. Wir haben somit 1 Objekt mitgeteilt. CAST wiederum zählte dann 10 Objekte?
Des weiteren wurden unsrerseits nur die “sinnvollen” Objekte beachtet - es war dem CAST Analyzer dann aber wiederum nicht möglich irgendwelche Einschränkungen sinnvoll festzusetzen - also hat der Analyzer alle Objekte importiert (auch die ganzen “sinnlosen” Objekte).

Forms Analysen

(B) Für folgendes sollte das Produkt im Jahr 2004 eingesetzt werden. Leider völlig unbefriedigend.
Für Forms 3 analysen und DB-Link Abhängigkeiten ==> Resultat: War dazu nicht brauchbar da der generische Analyzer keine Verbindungen aus Forms 3 via Oracle 7.2 DB-Link auf Oracle 8.0.4 erkennen konnte.

Here are some basic questions on the application mining Suite 5.0
If you have a few minutes I could have maybe this back.
The PLD from different jobs are not geshared as I have said on the phone. Be ask whether it is a bug or something.

Thus I can continue next week, I would like to brief you again my mail with the questions for the analysis of CALL_FORM and RUN_PRODUCT send references. Maybe you can send me as a way to describe those with whom I shortcuts to analyze bring.

It works really great! I could easily understand.
– The Forms references, I must really have done anything wrong.
– When the reports references with the Reference_Finder I initially completely the wrong approach. I am rather, I would have assumed after RUN_PRODUCT (REPORTS. … Or so was looking after. Now it is clear to me that I actually after the “Report” search.
Works in any fine.

==> Now back something old: It appears in all since yesterday CAST programs: “Your temporary Key will expire in 28 days.”

Coming as the message “You have more object that the licence allows?”
